How the math works

Base commission

Revenue up to quota pays at your effective rate. In OTE mode that rate is derived the way the real engine derives it: (OTE − base salary) ÷ annual quota.

Accelerators

Revenue above a tier boundary pays at the rate × that tier's multiplier. A 1.5× tier from 100–150% means every dollar in that band earns one-and-a-half times the base rate.

Kickers

A milestone bonus that pays a percentage of monthly variable comp the moment attainment reaches the tier — a one-time step, not a rate change.

Caps and floors

A cap limits the total payout for the month; a floor guarantees a minimum. When both are set and conflict, the floor wins — same rule as the production engine.

Cost of sale

The cost panel shows base salary plus payout as a percentage of revenue. Because base salary is flat, the ratio usually falls as attainment climbs — watch whether your top accelerator makes it turn back up.
